Monaco's star footballer Moussa Gueye has scored his first goal for the club since joining in January 2018. The midfielder, who joined from Ligue 1 side Rennes, netted the winner in the team's 2-1 victory over fellow Ligue 1 outfit Montpellier on Sunday.
Gueye was involved in all three goals as Monaco secured their fourth consecutive win in all competitions. The French champions took the lead through a stunning strike from Brazilian winger Bernardo Silva before Gueye equalised with a well-taken finish.
The victory means that Monaco have now won six out of their last seven matches and sit just two points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain. It also moves them up to second place in the league table, level on points with Lille.
Gueye, who previously played for West Ham United, has been a key player for Monaco this season,La Liga Frontline contributing to several important victories for the club. He is known for his versatility, having played at left-back, right-back and central midfield during his time at Monaco.
The victory over Montpellier was a much-needed boost for Monaco, who had struggled to find form in recent weeks. However, the club will be hoping that they can continue their good form into the later stages of the season and push for honours come the end of the campaign.
